VerifyProduct.ng provides access to available product information. A report submitted through this platform does not replace an official complaint or report to NAFDAC or another relevant regulatory authority.
When should you report a product?
You may have concerns about a product for different reasons. A concern does not automatically mean that a product is fake or unsafe. However, unusual or suspicious information may deserve further investigation.
The product does not appear in the available registration information.
The NAFDAC number printed on the product does not match the product or manufacturer information.
The packaging appears unusual, altered, damaged, or inconsistent with other products of the same type.
The product contains information that appears incomplete or suspicious.
You have received or purchased a product that you believe may be counterfeit or falsified.
You have another reasonable concern about the identity, registration, quality, or safety of a product.
Check the information first
Before submitting a report, check the product information carefully. This helps reduce reports caused by typing mistakes or incomplete information.
Check the product name
Make sure you have entered the product name correctly.
Check the NAFDAC number
Enter the number exactly as it appears on the product packaging.
Check the manufacturer
Compare the manufacturer information shown on the product with the available registration information.
Review the result
Read the verification result carefully before deciding that a product is counterfeit or unregistered.
Information that may be useful
If you decide to report a product, collect as much relevant information as you can. Useful information may include:
- Product name
- NAFDAC registration number
- Manufacturer name
- Batch or lot number
- Expiry date
- Date and location of purchase
- Name or location of the seller or outlet
- A description of the concern
- Clear photographs of the product and packaging, where appropriate
