VerifyProduct.ng is an independent consumer information platform based in Nigeria. We help Nigerians verify NAFDAC-registered products and access safety information about drugs, food products, and cosmetics.
We are not affiliated with NAFDAC or any government agency. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle any information you provide when using our platform.
We collect minimal information to operate the platform:
Search queries: When you search for a product, we may log the search term to improve our service. This is not linked to your identity.
Product reports: When you submit a fake product report, we collect the information you provide in the form — product name, NAFDAC number, location, and any description you include. We do not require you to create an account or provide your name.
Technical data: Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used for security and performance monitoring only.
We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number unless you voluntarily provide it in a report or contact form.
We do not require account registration to use the platform.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data to third parties.
We do not run advertising networks or allow advertisers to track you through our platform.
Search data is used only to improve search results and understand which products Nigerians are most concerned about.
Report data is used to investigate suspected fake products and, where appropriate, to forward reports to NAFDAC or relevant authorities. By submitting a report, you consent to this use.
Technical data is used solely for platform security and performance.
VerifyProduct.ng uses minimal cookies necessary for the platform to function correctly. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how some parts of the platform work.
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel may collect basic technical data as described in their privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Contentful — our content management system for blog posts and alerts. Content is stored on Contentful's servers. See contentful.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Supabase — our product database provider. Product data is stored on Supabase's servers. See supabase.com/privacy.
None of these providers have access to any personal data you submit through our platform beyond what is described above.
Product reports are retained for as long as necessary to investigate and act on them. If a report does not lead to any action, it is deleted within 12 months.
Technical logs are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically.
You have the right to request that any information you have submitted to us be deleted. To make such a request, contact us through the Report page.
We will respond to all data-related requests within 14 days.
VerifyProduct.ng is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
